Paula Deen Expected to Announce She has Type 2 Diabetes

NBC’s Today Show announced this afternoon on Facebook that celebrity chef Paula Deen will sit down with Al Roker on Tuesday’s show to address rumors that she has type 2 diabetes.  The announcement comes hours after Twitter and the blogosphere speculated that the Food Network personality best known for her love of butter was experiencing health problems.

News of possible health problems surfaced in in April 2010 after the National Enquirer reported Deen was diagnosed with the disease.  Deen has neither confirmed nor denied the reports.

The Today Show is promising Deen will finally confront the issue on Tuesday’s show and according to multiple sources she will confirm that she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, but it’s unclear when the diagnosis was made.
