Waldorf Astoria Chicago Closes Critically Acclaimed Restaurant

The critically acclaimed “Ria” restaurant in Chicago’s historic Waldorf Astoria is closing.
The move comes three months after Ria executive chef Daniel Grant became the only Chicagoan to make Food & Wine magazine’s list of the nation’s top 10 new chefs. It also comes a year after the Ria team was invited to serve a dinner showcasing their work at the James Beard House.
The Waldorf describes Ria as:
Set in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast in the chic Waldorf Astoria Chicago, RIA is a sophisticated, engaging restaurant serving Chef Danny Grant’s modern, seasonally driven French cuisine.

The hotel told the Chicago Tribune:
The Waldorf Astoria said it is closing RIA as part of a repositioning of its food and beverage options. Its casual restaurant will remain open and new dining plans will be announced in coming months, it said, declining further comment.
