Chef Banned From City For Biting Police Officer

What horrible act did a chef in Northern Ireland do to get banned from an entire city?  He allegedly bit a police woman’s leg.

As part of the bail conditions set for 21-year-old chef James Darvey he can only enter the city of Belfast to work.  He faces charges stemming from a riot that broke out at a parade earlier this month.  He is officially charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, provoking a breach of the peace and resisting arrest.

At his bail hearing the court heard testimony that Darvey had been drinking tequila ahead of the incident and doesn’t remember what happened.

Police say he spit at a group of people and bit a police officer on her left thigh while resisting arrest.

You can read the entire details of the incident in the BBC’s report.
