Bourdain Co-Writes Sushi Chef Graphic Novel

A crazy sushi chef embroiled in a gang war– that’s the subject of Anthony Bourdain’s new graphic novel “Get Jiro!”

Bourdain co-wrote the very graphic, graphic novel which hits bookstores on Wednesday.  Believe it or not, Bourdain says he wanted to be an underground comic artist before turning to the culinary arts.

“Get Jiro!,” was co-written by Joel Rose and drawn by Langdon Foss who is known for his drawings in Heavy Metal magazine.  The plot revolves around an anal LA sushi chef from the not-so-distant future.  Among the highlights– he cuts the head off a customer who dunked his roll into too much soy sauce.

But wait, it gets better.

Our endearing chef soon finds himself caught in the middle of a bloody gang war between the rival “locavores” and “internationalists.”

We’re waiting for the sequel which we hope involves vegans vs. vegetarians vs. paleo dieters.
