Banned In Canada: Kibbeh?

Canada’s health department is allegedly fighting a secret war on the Lebanese dish kibbeh– or steak tartare.
In February the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued an unprecedented press release warning people not to consume the finely ground beef that’s the main ingredient in the dish warning of E.coli and other bacteria dangers.
Now it turns out local health inspectors are cracking down on restaurants serving kibbeh, ordering them to take it off their menus.
“It doesn’t make any sense. It’s not making sense to us,” restaurant owner Kamel Abbas told the CBC.
