Subway Goes Vegan
Subway is going vegan, yes the chain famous for its meatball sub smothered with cheese is going vegan.
The company announced that it will start testing new vegan sandwiches at locations in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia. Vegan diners will have three options: Malibu Greek, Sweet Riblet and Italian Black Bean.
The sandwiches are available on five different vegan friendly breads: Roasted Garlic, Sourdough, Light Wheat English Muffin, Hearty Italian and Hearty Italian White.
The cost– $7.00 for the foot-long and $4.50 for the 6-inch. Right now there are no plans to roll out the new menu nationwide.
The Vegetarian Resource Group estimates that 5% of Americans are vegetarians and about half are vegans.
