Tomato Food Fight!

Rejected tomatoes apparently have no better use than to be used as ammo in large food fights.

Dateline: Sutamarchan, Colombia, Sunday.  The story: Thousands of farmers and tourists pelt each other with tomatoes.

The annual Tomatina Festival is a big thing in northern Colombia and everyone comes for Sunday’s big event– the tomato fight.  Children kick-off the fight, quickly followed by the adults– firefighters end it, hosing everyone down.

Only leftover fruit not fit for human consumption is used in the festivities.
